A Valentine's Day Poem

Here's a poem from a few years back, written as a "bad love poem" exercise (t-dub wanted me to clarify that)!

zero to sixty

overcome am i
beholden to your eyes
searing through my soul
puncturing my heart
spewing the blood of my love for you
over a million pieces of
fragmented dreams shattered in the
aftermath
of the wreck
we called a
relationship
which was really much more like
gunning the engine thinking we could do zero to sixty in a matter of
seconds
and not seeing the brick wall
against which our love
shattered
into a million pieces of
fragmented dreams
and
exploded hearts
bloody, stinking, burning love
in the wreckage of my heart.
